Surbhi Sharma, PhD

Surbhi received her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from India’s CSIR-Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology in July of 2021. During her Ph.D. she worked to decipher the function of a novel microprotein in the zebrafish retina. After completing her Ph.D. she joined Kyoto University iCEMS, where she worked on the identification of RNA modifications using nanopore sequencing. Surbhi joined the Fazal Lab in May of 2022 to gain insight into subcellular transcriptomes.

In addition to research, Surbhi enjoys travelling, exercising, and reading books.
