Devi Boggupalli

postdoctoral fellow

Devi Boggupalli is a postdoctoral associate in Dr. Fazal's lab, specializing in RNA localization and its regulatory mechanisms. His research leverages Massively parallel reporter assays (MPRA) and Apex-Seq to identify RNA features crucial for targeting to specific subcellular compartments.

Devi earned his Ph.D. in May 2020 from Augusta University under Dr. Graydon Gonsalvez. His research focused on the role of a novel Tropomysoin1C isoform in Drosophila oocyte development, particularly its function as an adapter protein facilitating the kinesin motor-mediated localization of oskar mRNA. Prior to joining Dr. Fazal's lab, Devi pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Florida with Dr. Eric Wang, where he delved deeper into the kinesin-RBP-RNA code.

In his free time, Devi enjoys exploring various fields, including technology, economics, politics, and movies.
